Flexible Driver for CH-60 and CH-61 Optical Shutters

The DCH-60 driver is specifically designed to control the SH-65 optical shutter. The driver is callibrated during manufacturing to minimize shutter vibration. The driver is easily operated using the internal or external mode switch.

Internal Mode: Adjustable Low-Frequency Optical Chopper

In internal mode, the shutter acts as an adjustable low-frequency (0.5 to 25 Hz) optical chopper. An internal oscillator and multiturn potentiometer control the laser shutter blade position. The internal oscillator has a minimum frequency stability of 0.1%.

External Mode: Versatile Control Options

In the external mode, the shutter is controlled by an external TTL signal at a two-pin input connector or, optionally, a BNC connector. The optical modulator can be opened by disconnecting the pins of the input connector and closed by connecting (shorting) the pins of input connector. Alternatively, a TTL clock signal from DC to 25 Hz can be used to control the laser chopper position. A TTL low signal moves the shutter to a closed position and a TTL high signal moves the shutter to a closed position.

Monitor Output

The diver includes a monitor output connector. A TTL high output indicates that the shutter is open and the TTL low output indicates that the shutter is close. At power up the monitor output is undefined.
