The DSH-35 driver is specifically designed to control the SH-35 optical shutter. The driver is callibrated during manufacturing to minimize shutter vibration. The driver is easily operated using the internal or external mode switch.
In internal mode, the shutter acts as an adjustable low-frequency (0.5 to 50 Hz) optical chopper. An internal oscillator and multiturn potentiometer control the laser shutter blade position. The internal oscillator has a minimum frequency stability of 0.1%.
In the external mode, the shutter is controlled by an external TTL signal at a two-pin input connector or, optionally, a BNC connector. The optical modulator can be opened by disconnecting the pins of the input connector and closed by connecting (shorting) the pins of input connector. Alternatively, a TTL clock signal from DC to 50 Hz can be used to control the laser chopper position. A TTL low signal moves the shutter to a closed position and a TTL high signal moves the shutter to a closed position.
The diver includes a monitor output connector. A TTL high output indicates that the shutter is open and the TTL low output indicates that the shutter is close. At power up the monitor output is undefined.
